Parish Pastoral Council





  • Fr. Dennis Wilhelm, Pastor  
    Father Dennis was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario where he was the oldest of five children. He graduated from Humber College in Toronto with an Ontario License in Funeral Direction. He worked as a funeral director in Windsor for 15 years. Father Dennis entered St. Peter's Seminary in 1981 and was ordained a priest in 1988 at the age of 41. He has served parishes in Mt. Carmel, Windsor, St. Mary's, Woodstock and London. He was a pastor at Holy Family Parish in Wallaceburg for 11 years before coming to St. Joseph's Parish in 2004. He enjoys playing golf when he can and also playing bridge.




  • Christine Romansky - Chairperson  
    Christine has been a parishioner at St. Joseph's Parish for the past 6 years. She is married to Wally and they have a son Ian and she has two step-children, Jeff and Amanda. Christine has been employed at Maple City Office Equipment for the past 20 years. This is her final year on Parish Pastoral Council.







  • Michelle O'Rourke  
    Michelle has been a pastoral minister here at St. Joseph's since 1994. She also works part time as an RN in the ER at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. She is married to Tom and they have four grown children. Michelle is presently pursuing studies for her Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry.







  • Sr. Barbara Anne Snyder, O.S.U.  
    Sr. Barbara Anne, an Ursuline Sister, is in her 12th year as part-time Pastoral Minister at St. Joseph's Parish. Sister is responsible for baptism preparation for parents and she coordinates our R.C.I.A. process. She rejoices in all the new life she has the privilege to witness in the parish.







  • Ethel Mills  
    Ethel has been a member of St. Joseph's Parish for a number of years and works for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board. She has volunteered in the past with RCIA. Ethel is in her second year on Parish Pastoral Council and is presently serving as Secretary.







  • Lucy Pranovi  
    Lucy and her family have been members at St. Joseph's Parish for 28 years. She is married to Frank and has two children, Marc and Franka and a new grandson Luca. Lucy is an employee of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board. This is her second year on the Parish Pastoral Council.







  • Mary Ann MacKew  
    Mary Ann is married to Mark MacKew and mother of Katrina and Mark Jr.. Employed at the Prism Center for Audiology and Children's Rehabilitation, she has worked as a social worker for 25 years. She is a member of the Social Justice Committee and City Catholic Women's League.







  • Ted Sojcynski  
    Ted has been a member of St. Joseph's Parish for over 20 years. He serves as a Eucharistic Minister and currently with the RCIA group. He is a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knight's of Columbus and he looks forward to serving on the Parish Pastoral Council for the upcoming term.







  • Bernadette Morrell  
    Bernadette has been a member of St. Joseph's Parish for over 30 years. She is married to Rae and they have two children Alessia and Ken. Since being a member of St. Joseph's Parish she has participated in various committees and is currently a Liturgical Reader. Bernadette is the Chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council and serving her final year.







  • Stephanie Slade  
    Stephanie has been a member at St. Joseph's Parish for approximately 12 years. She is serving her final year on Parish Pastoral Council and is a member of the Harwich Catholic Women's League. Stephanie is a Registered Massage Therapist and works in physiotherapy clinics in Chatham and Blenheim.







  • Pam Sojcynski  
    Pam Sojczynski also attends our Parish Pastoral Council meetings as a liaison from the Parish Finance Committee. We acknowledge her and thank her for that commitment.

    To acquire and distribute prayer books and scriptural reflection matierals on a regular basis for parish use
  • Website (II-2)
    To create a website for parishioners to make information available about St. Joseph's Parish and links to other websites
  • Training Cantors (IV-1)
    To provide ongoing training and formation for our cantors
  • Liturgical Ministries (IV-3)
    To create formation opportunities for liturgical ministries (ie: altar servers, lectors and eucharistic ministers)

    To reestablish parish library in an accessible area in the church for entire Parish to use

    To update parishioners on Catholic teachings and current issues within our Catholic faith

    To develop and implement a plan for palliative care ministry within our parish
  • Welcome Desk (II-3)
    To create / maintain a welcome desk at the main doors of the church.
  • Governance Model (VI-2)
    To improve / maintain an open, flexible, transparent and accountable parish governance model. 1) Pastoral Council 2) Finance 3) Buildings

    To establish a yearly prayer retreat with alternating target groups and themes
  • Recruit Volunteers (III-4)
    To educate and update our parishioners about the roles of the various parish groups who minister to those in need and how they can support those groups
  • Recruit Ministries (IV-2)
    To recruit and train more parishioners / families in the roles of the ushers / greeters / gift bearers

    To actively discuss co-operative models and practices with other local parishes (clusters) to encourage shared resources, facilities and programs

    To schedule regular opportunities for education and spiritual formation of lay readers in the parish

    To educate and encourage parishioners regarding lay and ordained vocations and opportunities to study (Pastoral or Youth ministry, Deaconate, Priesthood, Religious Life)
  • Lay Catechists Sacramental Prep. (V-3)
    To educate and form lay catechists for sacramental preparation and other ministries
